The Winter Discovery Collection

Brooks by Invitation is a new benefit of your Brooks membership. Twice a year, once in winter and once in spring, we put together a Discovery Collection of wines we think deserve a little extra attention: old favorites, hidden gems, and small lots that rarely leave the cellar. There’s no commitment. Each collection is simply an invitation.

For our first collection, we chose four wines that show what Brooks does best: rare sites, tiny productions, and Riesling in its most expressive forms. Two of them are unlikely to come around again.

2024 Temperance Hill Pinot Noir | 96 points, James Suckling
Temperance Hill is one of the most acclaimed vineyards in the Willamette Valley, and the 2024 vintage gave us fruit with remarkable concentration. We made just 42 cases, and every bottle is reserved for this collection. You won’t find it in the tasting room or online.

2024 Tempranillo
Tempranillo is Spain’s signature grape and a rare find in the Willamette Valley. To our knowledge, ours comes from the only site in the valley warm enough to fully ripen it. The result is deep red and blue fruit, savory depth and bright, juicy acidity. We made 66 cases, and this is our final vintage, so this is likely your only chance to bring it home.

2021 Extended Tirage Sparkling Riesling | 96 points, Editors’ Choice, Wine Enthusiast
Fewer than a handful of traditional method Sparkling Rieslings are made in the U.S. Ours comes from some of the oldest Riesling vines in the Willamette Valley, at the historic Hyland Vineyard in the foothills of the Coast Range near McMinnville. It’s the bottle to open for the holidays, or any time there’s something worth toasting.

2022 Gold Capsule Riesling | 95 points, Decanter
This is our first estate Riesling made from grapes touched by noble rot, a rare and welcome mold that concentrates the sugar and flavor in each berry. The result is a wine of striking complexity, with electric acidity balanced by layers of wild honey, candied ginger and sun-ripened stone fruit. We made just [XX] cases, bottled in a full 750ml.
